L.A. Style: A Novel ReviewL.A. style is fun, breezy, and totally entertaining. It opens with a hilarious scene in which Katherine, the heroine, is out with girlfriends Miranda and Jenna, trying to meet single men in the L.A. bar scene, while breaking in her new leather pants. For anyone who has tried to meet men at bars, bookstores, and singles parties, L.A. Style will make you laugh as you recognize yourself in these scenes.

Katherine is an attorney who is somewhat bored with her job, but her life becomes more interesting when she starts developing feelings for a gorgeous and incredibly likeable partner at her law firm, Mitch Kline. The tension between them builds, and they try to hide their feelings at work. Katherine's life becomes more complicated when Mitch asks her to defend his friend, Nick, a movie studio executive, who is being accused of sexual harassment by an actress. Katherine thinks Nick is definitely guilty and can't understand why Mitch would befriend someone like that. If that weren't enough, Jenna, an anchor for Entertainment Tonight, begins dating Nick, and Katherine doesn't know whether she should let her friend find out for herself what type of person Nick really is. All the while, Katherine's other gal pal, Miranda, gets divorced from her wealthy plastic surgeon husband, and has to learn how to support herself. Luckily, for the readers, Miranda starts up a party planning business that hosts events at the most stylish spots in L.A., her parties often serving as the backdrops for the trendy scenes throughout the novel.
